Why does he call me and not say anything?!! Is he trying to annoy me?

My friend is always calling me and when we get on the phone he never says anything, he can actually take that silence I just do not get it, then when I tell him I'll talk to him later it's "no!" and then I say "ok, you want me to stay so we can talk?" and he says yes then it is back to the silence. I asked him once why he never talks and he says he doesn't know. It feels like he does this just to annoy me.

that, or he wants 2 talk to you, or tell you something, but he cant think of a good conversation starter, or is nervous. i know cus ive done it before.

Weird...If you choose to stay on the phone with him, at least come up with something to say so you both can engage in conversation. Otherwise tell him you have better things to do.
There are a few weird people like that. Just tell him if he has nothing more to say ithat is significant in some way in the next 60 seconds you will hang up and talk to him another time. Then do it.
What is the point of anyone calling to occupy another person's time on the telephone? If he has nothing to say on the telephone, he could write you a letter or speak to you in person. Since he does not write or speak about any topics on the telephone or in person, it seems that he does this just to check to see if you are available when he calls. Then he wants you to stay on the phone, doing nothing. Therefore, if your personal time means anything to you, you will tell him to write down his thoughts so he can voice them the next time he calls. Then, if he does it one more time, have your answering service or someone else to pick up the phone and say you are unavailable. Then put him on call block and get your number changed as soon as possible. Do not give it to him again because it is unfair to you for him to be able to track you that way if he has nothing to say or to offer you except silence. He sounds like a "telephone stalker" and you deserve better.
some people including me just feel shy on the phone, do not no why in person, I am the complete opposite.

he might just "like" you thats why he likes to just call you and even though you two don't have a conversation going, it can still mean alot to him. OR...hes just being stupid and calls you to bug you.
